Lake Ontario Launch Ramps

Oswego: Oswego International Marina has three paved launch ramps. Next door, Wright’s Landing can launch six boats simultaneously from their launch ramp. On Basin Street, Oswego Marina has a launch ramp.

Mexico: Mexico Point State Boat Launch has two launch lanes and a paved parking lot. There is a launch at Mike’s Marina Service East, formerly known as Mexico Bay Co. Salmon Country has a public launch ramp for a small fee.

Selkirk: The Selkirk Lighthouse Marina at the mouth of the Salmon River offers a boat launch. Selkirk Shores State Park has a boat launch at Pine Grove that is suitable for small boats. Henry Hudson Park, off Route 144, has a paved launch ramp.

North Pond: There is a boat launch at Carnsie’s Irish Wigwam Hotel and Marina. North Sandy Pond Marina, on the south bay of North Sandy Pond, has a boat launch. Seber Shores marina offers a boat launch for a fee. There is a boat launch at Reiter’s Marina.

Henderson Harbor: Formerly Allen’s Boat Livery, Bedford Creek Marina and Campground has a boat launch for a $5 fee. Off of Route 3, three miles west of Sackets Harbor, Westcott Beach State Park has a boat launch. The New York State launch ramp is a public ramp located next to Harbor’s End Marina. Harbor’s End Marina also has a launch ramp. A boat launch is at shore level on the west end of the Olympic Marina at the Association Island RV Resort and Marina for a fee. The free fishing access site on Military Drive offers multiple paved ramps.

Sackets Harbor: There is a public launch ramp at the public dock at Market Square Park. Another access ramp is located at Sackets Harbor Yacht Club.

Chaumont: On the peninsula facing Chaumont Bay, Long Point State Park has boat launching sites. A boat launch ramp is located at Adams Chaumont Bay Marina. Located on Guffin Bay on Point Salubrious in Chaumont is the Guffin Bay Resort and Marina, LLC, which has a boat launch as well.

Cape Vincent: The Cape Vincent Waterfront Park on East Broadway has a boat launch. Another launch ramp is located at Martins Marina. Millens Bay Marina also has a boat ramp. There are ramps at Precision Marine and Snug Harbor Marina.

Clayton: There is a launch ramp at Bayside Marina on State Street. Another ramp is located at Cantwell Pier 65 Marina. Cedar Point State Park has a public launch open from early May to mid-September. Meyers Marine offers a ramp as well. The municipal dock at French Creek Bay has a ramp as does Northern Marine on Stern Drive. Pier 225 Marina, Seaway Slips and Cottage Rentals, T.I. Adventures, LLC, Bill and Jack’s Marina, Grass Pointe State Park Marina and H. Chalk and Son, Inc. all feature boat ramps as well.

Keewaydin State Park: Wellesley Island State Park Marina, across the channel from Keewaydin State Park, has four boat launches.

Alexandria Bay: A launch ramp is located at Swan Bay Estates and Marina. Wagoner’s Sales and Service on Wagoner Park has a ramp as well. There are municipal docks located at James Street, Crossman Street, and Holland Street.

Ivy Lea: Just west of Village Quay, River Rat Marine has a boat launch. There is a concrete boat launch ramp at Peck’s Marina.

Rockport: On Front Street, Andress Boat Works has a boat launch. Another launch is located at Ed Huck Marine. A third ramp is located at Howard’s Marine.

Brockville: The Bridgeview Marina offers a launch ramp. Gilbert Marine on Jessie Street also has a boat ramp. Excel Marine and Chrysler Marina also have boat launches.

Morristown: Jacques Cartier State Park, in a sheltered bay, has a boat ramp.

Ogdensburg: Seven miles south of Ogdensburg, there is a boat launch open from May to September at Eel Weir State Park. The Paterson Street boat launch is located on the left at the end of Paterson Street. One block away from the municipal marina on Riverside Avenue is the Greenbelt boat launch.

Prescott: Bridgeview Restaurant and Marina, three miles east of Prescott, has a boat launch ramp. Another ramp is located on Water Street at the Sandra S. Lawn Harbour.

Gananoque: A boat ramp launch capable of launching boats up to 40 feet is at the Gananoque Municipal Marina. Clark’s Marina has a ramp for a $5 fee each way.

Treasure Island: The full-service Treasure Island Marina has a boat launching ramp for a $10 fee.

Kingston: There is a fee to use the boat launch at Rideau Marina.

Collins Bay: Blue Woods Marina on Bath Road has a launching ramp.

Amherst Island: There are no ramps on Amherst Island.

Bath: The government-operated Finkle’s Park has a boat ramp.

Main Duck Island: Main Duck Island is uninhabited and has no ramps.

Waupoos and Waupoos Island: For a $5 fee each way, visitors can use the Waupoos Marina.

Picton: There is a launching ramp at the full-service Glenora Marina just west of the ferry docks. Tip of the Bay Marina also has a launch ramp.

Deseronto: The public wharf at Centennial Park has a launch ramp.

Belleville: There is one launch at the end of South George Street. Passes can be purchased at the nearby canteen. Another launch is at the end of South Herchimer Street. Daily passes can be purchased from the ticket machine.

Trenton: Bayshore Park has a launch ramp.

Presqu’ile Bay: A municipally run boat ramp is located a half mile east of the Presqu’ile Provincial Park entrance. Another launch is located near the private Presqu’ile Yacht Club.

Wellers Bay: Stoneburg Cover Resort, the first camp beyond the channel, has a concrete launch ramp. There is another ramp located at Wellers Bay Campground and Marina.

West Lake: There is a boat launch located at the intersection of Kleinsteuber Parks Road and County Road 12. The government boat launch is at the L.C.B.O. building in Wellington. Another launch is located across the harbor from the government launch. Just take Beach Street and follow it to the lakeshore.

Cobourg: Cobourg Marina on Third Street has a launch ramp.

Port Hope: Turning to starboard one inside the harbor and past the nuclear power plant and moving up the river takes you to the Port Hope Marina which has a launch ramp.

Port of Newcastle: Bondhead Parkette, a municipal park on just beyond the entrance to the channel on the east side, has a launch ramp. Another ramp is located at the Port of Newcastle Marina.

Port Darlington: A launch is available at the Port Darlington Marina.

Oshawa: This port is closed to recreational traffic.

Whitby: Port Whitby Marina has a boat launch open from April 15 to October 31.

Frenchman’s Bay: Frenchman’s Bay Marina charges a $14.15 fee combined for ramp in and out, and parking.

Bluffers Park: Immediately to port as you enter the Bluffers Park harbor, Bluffers Park Marina has a launch ramp.

Ashbridge’s Bay: Launch ramps are located at Ashbridge’s Bay Park.

Toronto: Seven of the yacht clubs have ramps but you must be a member to use them. Close to downtown Toronto, Humber Bay Park offers launch ramps. The Ashbridge’s Bay Park ramp is also nearby.

Humber Bay: There are launch ramps at Humber Bay Park.

Port Credit: Port Credit Harbour, just beyond the sunken Ridgewater, has a launch ramp. Credit Village Marina, at the mouth of the Credit River, also has a ramp. More ramps are located at Lakefront Promenade Park, about a mile and a half east of Port Credit Harbour.

Oakville: See Bronte.

Bronte: Both the Bronte Outer Harbour Marina and Metro Marina have boat ramps.

Burlington: A launch ramp is located at the LaSalle Park Marina.

Hamilton: The full-service Harbour West Marina has a launch ramp. MacDonald Marine Services, around the point from Harbour West Marina, also has a ramp.

Stoney Creek: There are no ramps in Stoney Creek.

Fifty Point: Fifty Point Marina has a double boat launch.

Grimsby: The family-owned Lakecourt Marine has a boat ramp. Foran’s Marine, at the south end of the harbor, also has a boat launch ramp.

Jordan Harbour: There is a paved launch ramp at Beacon Marina.

Port Dalhousie: Lincoln Marina and the Dalhousie Yacht Club boat have launch ramps.

Port Weller:There is a launch ramp at St. Catharines Marina which is located on the entrance channel’s eastern breakwall.

Niagara-on-the-Lake: The only ramp in town was closed. There is a boat launch at Niagara Parks Marina in nearby Fort Erie.

Youngstown: There is a boat launch located off of Second Street.

Lewiston: Lewiston Landing Marina has a two-lane paved launch ramp.

Wilson: A launch ramp is located at Tuscarora State Park.

Olcott: The Town of Newfane Marina, on the west side of Olcott Harbor, has a boat ramp.

Point Breeze: There are boat launches on both sides of the entrance to Oak Orchard Creek. The Orleans County Marine Park at Oak Orchard Harbor has a public boat launch.

Eagle Creek and Sandy Creek: Eagle Creek Marina, 15 miles west of Braddock Bay and eight miles east of Point Breeze, has a public access.

Braddock Bay: There is a concrete ramp at the Braddock Bay State Park.

Rochester: Genesee Valley Park has a cartop-only launch. Cornhill Landing and Allen’s Canal Street Marina both have boat launch ramps.

Irondequoit: Mayer’s Marina, at the entrance to the harbor, has a boat launch ramp. Irondequoit Bay State Marine Park also has a ramp.

Pultneyville: Just east of Pultneyville, Hughes Marina has a boat ramp.

Sodus Bay: There is a launch ramp at the USCG station facing a shallow cove. Members of the Sodus Bay Yacht Club can use its ramp.

Fair Haven: The Boathouse Marina has a launch ramp. More boat launch ramps are located at Fair Haven Beach State Park. Shawn’s Marina, located near the beach, also has a ramp.
