Muskegon “The Docks” Development Approved

By June 18, 2019No Comments

On June 13, the Muskegon Planning Commission approved a plan for an 83-acre home development called “The Docks” near Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan in the Bluffton and Beachwood neighborhoods last week, according to MLiveIn addition to 240 homes, a 12-acre boat basin will be included in the development.

The plan has drawn a few concerns from residents and one commissioner, but the $100 million project has received praise from city staff and other planning commissioners. The plan that was approved was the second version after changes were made following an October 2018 public meeting. Those changes include elimination of roadway and alleyways, downsizing the condo parking lot, reducing the number of units by 40 and adding a gated emergency entrance.

Back in March 2019, MLive reported that site work had begun on the proposed development, including removing trees.
