Future Boaters — Get Ready for Kids’ Day at the 2019 Cleveland Boat Show

By January 13, 2019No Comments

Kids 17 years old and younger will have the chance to learn and play at this year’s Cleveland Boat Show on January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day means schools are not in session). Sea Grant experts will be available to discuss harmful algal blooms, invasive species, marine debris, clean boating and climate change, along with educational opportunities available at Stone Laboratory, The Ohio State University’s island campus on Lake Erie. Favorite water characters like Captain Hook, Ariel and more will also make an appearance!

“We encourage everyone to visit our booth to learn more about all Lake Erie has to offer and how people can help protect it for future generations,” says Jill Bartolotta, Ohio Sea Grant Extension educator.

With each ticket sold on Kids’ Day, the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association will donate $1 to Stone Lab student scholarships. The show runs January 17-21 and takes place at the I-X Center in Cleveland. For more information, click here
