Webasto & Volvo Debut Webasto Breeze

By December 26, 2018No Comments

Boaters on open-cockpit sterndrive boats now have the option to add air conditioning and heating solutions onboard, thanks to Webasto and Volvo Penta. The two companies have partnered to offer the industry-first fully integrated engine-driven air conditioner and optional heating system.

The system, called Webasto Breeze, will be marketed to builders as an OEM-installed option and through dealers as an add-on. Volvo Penta will supply an upsized alternator and mounting bracket, and Webasto will provide the belt-driven compressor, evaporator, condenser, seawater pump and dash-mounted controls. The entire system is 12VDC, eliminating the need for an auxiliary generator.
The first U.S. boatbuilder to offer Webasto Breeze is Four Winns, which introduced the system as an option on the HD270 model.
