Groupe Beneteau now has majority ownership of Seascape, a Slovenian company that builds four affordable and easily transportable sailboat models ranging from 14 to 27 feet. In 2017, they had sales of $4.9 million.
“Our acquisition of a stake in Seascape will enable us to offer a selection of small sailing yachts designed for both novice sailors and enthusiasts, often younger and first-time buyers,” says Hervé Gastinel, the CEO of Groupe Beneteau.
The original founders of the sailboat company will retain 40 percent of the ownership, and say the change will have no effect on the events, services and boats the company produces.
