TowBoatU.S. Detroit Announces New Owner

By May 24, 2018No Comments

On-water towing and assistance company TowBoatU.S. Detroit has a new owner — Capt. Jeff Pidcock, the owner of the local Damark Marine Specialties. Pidcock was the owner of Damark Marine Specialties in Gibraltar, which refloats sunken boats and provided salvage services for over 20 years.

TowBoatU.S. features a network of 41 locations on the Great Lakes and 300 in the U.S. A $72-per-year membership with the company gives boaters 24/7 help with broken-down boats that need a tow, battery jump, fuel or help with soft ungrounding. Pidcock bought the Detroit location from Capt. Brian Williams, with whom he has worked in the local recreational boating industry. Despite the new ownership, not much will change.

“All of our professional U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains will remain with us [along with the six-vessel fleet],” Pidcock says.
