Seakeeper Under New Ownership

By April 11, 2018No Comments

After an extensive search, Seakeeper is now under new ownership. Madison Industries, a Chicago-based company, is now the majority owner of Seakeeper. The current management at Seakeeper will continue to run daily operations, while Madison Industries’ CEO Larry Gies will serve in a leadership role. Seakeeper produces gyroscopes to reduce boat roll in vessels 20 feet and up.

Officials at Seakeeper said in a press release that they are pleased with the choice of Madison Industries, which they say also values Seakeeper’s unique company culture. Seakeeper’s current COO, Andrew Semprevivo, will step into the role of president and CEO. The VP of manufacturing & engineering, Bob Moser, and VP of finance, Rebecca Smitha, will continue on in their current roles. Seakeeper founders Shep McKenney and John Adams will remain on the Seakeeper team as minority owners and members of the board of directors.

“We’re very proud of Seakeeper’s past and are even more excited to plan for its future,” McKenney said in a press release. “Thank you to our loyal staff, customers

and vendors who have believed in our technology and our vision. It’s been 10 years since we shipped our first gyro, and we are celebrating by ensuring Seakeeper is poised for future growth and industry leadership.”
