Historical Society Hosts Talk on Mackinac Bridge

The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society is hosting a presentation on the history of the Mackinac Bridge on Thursday, January 19. Bob Sweeney, the executive secretary/chief executive officer for the Mackinac Bridge Authority, will host the meeting.

The presentation, “The Past, Present and Future Challenges of the Mackinac Bridge,” will cover the history of the bridge, as well as Sweeney’s experience working with the Mackinac Bridge Authority. Sweeney has worked in the transportation industry for more than three decades and holds a degree in engineering.

This presentation is part of the historical society’s Harbor History Talk series. It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Harbor Springs History Museum. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for current Historical Society members. Reservations are highly encouraged, and can be made by emailing info@harborspringshistory.org.
