Garmin Unveils 2017 Products

Boats weren’t the only thing on display at the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Garmin also unveiled a number of new and improved products for 2017 to make the boating experience easy and seamless.

Changes for 2017 include improvements and new products for Garmin’s GPSMAPs. In particular, Garmin is rolling out new 7- and 9-inch chartplotters and combos, as well as new 10- and 12-inch keyed plotters and combos. All GPSMAPs will also come with full network compatibility plus NMEA 2000, as well as built-in 10Hz GPS, ANT and wireless connectivity for Garmin mobile apps.

The new Fantom 18 and 24 boast excellent close and long-range detection, Garmin MotionScope Doppler technology and 40W solid-state pulse compression. Garmin’s latest Panoptix transducer with FrontVü, the PS51-TH, displays lake bottom up to 300 feet ahead of a boat at eight to 10 times the current depth. It’s nearly instant feedback helps cruisers avoid running aground.
