The boating community lost an innovative and good-natured member to lung cancer this summer. Captain Christopher Kelly — an award-winning multimedia producer and publisher, magazine editor and entrepreneur — passed away July 5 in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Kelly leaves behind a long list of successful entrepreneurial marine pursuits: He founded American Marine Training, BoatTest.com and VehiclesTest.com. He also worked as executive editor at Power & Motoryacht magazine, as well as in various positions for Bonnier and Active Interest Media. He pursued hobbies such as scuba diving, flying private planes, traveling and coaching softball.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years and their two children.
