Metro Boat Show Grows for 7th Year

By September 7, 2016No Comments

This year’s Metro Boat Show will be bigger and better than ever, with a fresh new name and more boats. The show takes place at Lake St. Clair Metropark from September 15-18.

The in-water boat show has almost doubled in size from last year, filling 110 slips with boats from 10 to 60 feet in length, new and used, in a range of styles and prices. In particular, savvy boaters should keep an eye out for end-of-season deals.

“Exhibitors who have downsized in the past are increasing their spaces again,” says Bethany Sly, director of exhibitor sales. “The show is growing and we’ve heard boat sales are up this year from our exhibitors — we’re expecting a great show.”

The Metro Boat Show will feature a plethora of events to keep boaters entertained as they browse. Attendees can check out live music from local bands; a Tiki bar and craft beer; Smokin’ on the Beach, a smoked meats competition; parkour/freerunning demonstrations; a Kid’s Zone; special guest appearances by fisherman Josh Jorgensen and BlacktipH; as well as boating demos and lessons.

The Metro Boat Show is produced by Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA). Admission is $10 for adults and children under 12 get in for free.
