Tie Up in the Heart of Chicago with Downtown Docks

By July 1, 2016No Comments

Lake Michigan boaters looking to make a day trip to Chicago this season don’t need to stick to lakefront marinas: Downtown Docks, which opened for the season in May, provides transient dockage on Chicago’s Riverwalk for anyone who wants to spend a few hours in the city.

Downtown Docks started in 2015, and today provides boaters with 350 feet of dockage between State and Dearborn Streets with reservations. This prime location on the Chicago River is within easy walking distance to the bars and restaurants of the River North area, shopping on the Magnificent Mile and State Street, and entertainment options down in the Loop. The river itself also has many boat-oriented activities, such as kayaking and architecture boat tours.
