Evinrude Donates Outboards to Research Teams

By May 26, 2016No Comments

Evinrude made good on its mission to support local education and marine environment preservation this May by donating a few of its outboard engines to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Science. The donated E-TEC G2 engines — which are considered the cleanest combustion engines currently on the market — will be used on two of the school’s research vessels.

“Our faculty and students conduct vital research on topics such as water quality, pollution identification and prevention, and improved fish breeding for urban aquaculture,” says J. Val Klump, associate dean of research and senior director at the School. “These projects impact the environment, the economy and the quality of life for millions of people locally and globally, now and for future generations.”

The School of Freshwater Sciences was founded in 2009, and remains the only graduate school in North America dedicated solely to studying freshwater issues.
