WebWhip Brings Wi-Fi Over Water

By May 3, 2016No Comments

With Shakespeare Marine’s new WebWhip, there’s no need to go off the grid when you take a day on the boat. The WebWhip is a fully-integrated, long-range Wi-Fi receiver that extends Wi-Fi range on the water by increasing coverage of accessible hotspots for up to 7 miles.

The WebWhip connects to a standard Wi-Fi router and can also plug directly into a computer with a provided 25 feet of Ethernet cable. This provides 100+ Mbps throughput and is compatible with the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi frequency. Multiple users can connect to the WebWhip through computers and handheld devices.

The WebWhip requires no software installation, is easy to set up, and comes with a versatile mounting kit. The Wi-Fi extender is about 19.5”x3”x1.5” and weighs 13.6 oz. Even though it’s splash-proof, the WebWhip comes with a two-year warranty.

Suggested retail price of the WebWhip is $349.95.
