Building on their goal of making electric boating easier and more accessible, Torqeedo has announced several new drive systems for the 2016 boating season.
Sailboat owners might fancy Torqeedo’s first Cruise Fixed Pod motors, lightweight and powerful pod drives that are mounted below water. The Cruise 4.0 can propel a sailboat up to 4 tons at about 7 mph. These Fixed Pod motors come with an optional folding propeller.
The next in Torqeedo’s line of new products is the Deep Blue Saildrive, the first electric high-performance saildrive from serial production. The Deep Blue Saildrive is emission-free, quiet and can propel boats up to 50 tons up to 11 mph. Other updated products include the 915Wh lithium Travel Battery and additional motors.
