Sea Tow Foundation Accepting Applications

By February 11, 2016No Comments

Since it started in 2008, The Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner program has lent out more than 29,000 free life jackets. Through their Life Jacket Loaner Stands, boaters may borrow jackets for free for a whole day. Now, the Sea Tow Foundation is accepting applications from non-profits and boating agencies to host a life jacket loaner program in their local area.

“The Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Stands can be a Godsend to boaters who discover at the ramp or in the marina that they don’t have enough PFD’s for everyone on board, or need a different size to fit a guest or a child,” says Sea Tow Foundation executive director Michael Wesolowski in a press release. “Life jackets save lives, and we are happy to welcome new applicants to this vital program.”

The loaner program is funded through a grant from the U.S. Coast Guard’s Sport Fish Restoration & Boating Trust Fund. Loaner stands can be found nationwide at more than 290 locations. The foundation is accepting life jacket loaner applications through February 29.
