NW Explorations Adds San Juan Flotilla

By August 17, 2015No Comments

NW Explorations announced a new cruise to the San Juan Islands. Their flotillas are renowned not only for the spectacular cruising locations, but the experience of traveling as a group.

Guests will be provided with a naturalist and technician on the lead vessel, local history and wildlife sightings, hikes, and many other adventures while strengthening your current boating skills.
The itinerary will include intimate anchorages, large and small marinas, and of course…some spectacular scenery. NW Exploration flotilla dates coincide with the time that Orca whale sightings are at their peak in this area. Harbor porpoise, seals, sea lions, eagles, cormorants, blue heron, and osprey are also very visible throughout the islands. Speiden (aka “Safari”) Island hosts a multitude of exotic deer and goats that are worth some camera shots as well.
Historic destinations will also abound on this flotilla. A stop in Roche Harbor is a must to see the one-room schoolhouse, old lime kiln and generator, the Mausoleum, and Sculpture Garden. A local historian will share the early beginnings of Rosario Resort while hiking, swimming, hot tubs, and a spa will further increase your relaxation at the resort.
