Detroit Boat Show Offers Free Boating Safety Course

By January 22, 2015No Comments

Become a better boater by attending the upcoming Detroit Boat Show, February 14-22 at Detroit’s Cobo Center. The boat show is partnering with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Conservation Officers and the Oakland County Marine Division to offer a free boating safety class during the show, sponsored by Yamaha.

Those who finish the free, six-hour course, taking place Saturday, February 21, will receive one free ticket to the show, courtesy of Yamaha.

“Not only is it smart to take a course to keep your friends and family safe on the water, but passing this exam also often accounts for discounts on your boat insurance,” says Detroit Boat Show manager Nicki Polan.

Boaters young and old are invited to learn the rules of the water and other helpful boating safety tips. Registration starts at 10 a.m. The course runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Space is limited, so pre-registration is recommended at www.detroitboatshow.net.
