Michigan Photographer Jason Mann Premieres Tall Ships Series in Sturgeon Bay

By March 13, 2014No Comments

Professional photographer and Door County Native Jason Mann will be displaying his Tall Ships photography series this March, which captures the last voyage of the HMS Bounty through Sturgeon Bay before it sunk off the coast of North Carolina in 2012 during Hurricane Sandy.

The Tall Ships series will be displayed at Glas Coffeehouse in Sturgeon Bay throughout March, and Mann will be hosting an Artist Reception/Open House March 21.

“Growing up in Sturgeon Bay, I’ve always been drawn to the water and the rich maritime history,” Mann says. “My grandfather, Bob Warner, was a captain, and I grew up hearing stories of his sailing adventures. When the tall ships came through in 2010, I had the idea of meeting the tall ships predawn at the assembly point on the lake and captured some pretty amazing photos.”
