By March 6, 2014No Comments

Charles E. “Charlie” Winn, a founder of Four Winns boat company in Cadillac, Michigan, passed away November 18. He was 70.

Winn had a passion for the water, antique boats and boating in general. “Of all Charlie’s many interests, I would say his number-one passion was boating,” says his wife, Janna (pictured with Winn above). “He loved the Great Lakes, particularly venturing to the North Channel. We spent more than 30 years exploring by boat. He was such a fabulous, skilled captain. He had a natural ability for handling boats.”

Winn was not only a founder of Four Winns, but also Lakeside Charlie’s Restaurant and Pheasant Ridge Estates, all located in Cadillac. He belonged to various yacht clubs in Florida and Michigan and held memberships in the Antique and Classic Boat Society and Great Lakes Cruising Club.
