Southwest Florida Yachts (SWFY), a premier Florida charter firm, will enter its 30th year of continuous service in 2014 at a new location that’s especially boater friendly: Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral, Florida, near Mile Marker 92 and the Caloosahatchee River.
“Our 30th anniversary is a major achievement,” says Barb Hansen, co-owner of the charter firm, power/sailing school and brokerage. “But to head into this year from a new base that is allowing us to consolidate our power and sail fleets, school and brokerage at a single, first-rate location with great amenities makes this a very special celebration.”
Tarpon Point Marina features a dedicated facility for Hansen’s companies, a ship’s store, boat and fishing charters, eco-guided tours and boat/kayak rentals. It is located in a sheltered, deep-water harbor and is safe from storms.
Hansen and her husband, Vic, began SWFY in 1984. The current charter fleets include 10 powerboats from 32 to 50 feet and a sailing fleet of five.
