An eye-catching center console.

Since Vanquish Boats has some of the sharpest looking boats on the water, we were excited when we came across the new 21 Bristol Harbor Series Center Console, or 21CC for short. And the 21CC isn’t just a looker — it also provides solid performance and has a lot of baked-in comfort.
Since Vanquish Boats has some of the sharpest looking boats on the water, we were excited when we came across the new 21 Bristol Harbor Series Center Console, or 21CC for short. And the 21CC isn’t just a looker — it also provides solid performance and has a lot of baked-in comfort.
As you’d expect with any center console, the 21CC’s layout is fairly simple and no-nonsense. Still, there’s a nice blend of features aboard. Up forward is a fully upholstered, U-shaped seating area that serves as a gathering area, complimented by a cozy bench seat ahead of the center console unit. Under the oversized center console is an enclosed head area that is roomier than you’d expect in a 21-footer. Twin jump seats aft and a nicely upholstered seat/leaning post aft of the helm round out the rest of the comfy seating accommodations.
Though the standard power plant on the 21CC is a 115-hp Mercury FourStroke outboard, the factory recommends a 150-hp FourStroke unit for the most ideal cost/performance ratio. Tipped to the pins, the 21CC has a top speed of 38 mph, with an efficient cruise settling in around 28 mph. You can also specify Yamaha outboard power. Maximum rated hp for the 21CC is 200 horses, which will put you in the high 40s.
Though the 21CCs hull deadrise is a relatively shallow 17 degrees at the transom, this is part of Vanquish’s variable deadrise hull design. It features a very steep entry at the bow that tapers gracefully aft. Though we didn’t have a chance to fully run the 21CC, we have run other Vanquish models in some fairly snotty weather. We can report that all of them handled quite well, despite the nasty chop. The 21CC should prove no different.
“The 21-foot Bristol Harbor Series Center Console is constructed with many of the quality materials you’ll find in larger Vanquish models,” Morgan Huntley with Vanquish Boats says. “A precisely balanced variable deadrise hull keeps you stable at rest, yet dry and comfortable in chop. But what’s even more exciting is that our special, variable deadrise hull design produces much greater performance with less hp than other 21-foot center consoles. The Bristol Harbor Series from Vanquish Boats is a tremendous value in the famous line of Vanquish luxury watercraft.”
