The Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA) announced the awardees for the association’s most prestigious honors. President and owner of Colony Marine Sales and Service and Michigan Harbor Properties, Pete Beauregard, Jr. was inducted into the MBIA Hall of Fame, and Chris Lisowicz of North Shore Marine and Barrett Boat Works awarded the Ray L. Underwood Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020. Both men will be honored at the virtual Recreational Boating Education Conference on December 2.

Beauregard, Jr. has served over 45 years in the boating industry, serving on the MBIA Board for more than 17 years after being elected in 1990. Recently, he was inducted into the Macomb County Hall of Fame, and in 2018 was appointed as a Michigan State Waterways Commissioner by former Michigan Governor Snyder.

“The MBIA Board of Directors voted unanimously that Pete be inducted for contributions far beyond support of the MBIA’s mission — as he is highly respected and an inspiring leader, who has proven through his generosity of time and shared insight to be truly committed to the success of Michigan’s boating industry,” says MBIA Chairman Tom DenHerder of Yacht Basin Marina in Holland.

Honoree Chris Lisowicz of Spring Lake, Michigan, has dedicated his life’s work to the boating industry as well as his two marinas. He prefers a hands-on approach, and can often be found working in the yard of his marinas. Lisowicz is a dedicated leader who is committed to integrity and finding innovative solutions to enhance and perpetuate the boating industry.

“Because of his longevity, dedication and personal integrity, Chris has earned wide recognition within our industry and the respect of his professional peers,” says MBIA Chairman Tom DenHerder. “The MBIA Board voted unanimously to honor Chris Lisowicz with this, one of our most prestigious awards.”
