Goderich Gains 300 Lakefront Homes

By November 24, 2020No Comments

Coast Developments is in the process of breaking ground on 98 acres and 1,300 feet of lakefront property along Lake Huron, just south of Goderich, a project that has been 40 years in the making.

The development plan calls for 300 new homes, a mix of single-detached homes, townhouses and semi-detached homes. The development’s location along Lake Huron shoreline creates the perfect setting for the homes and offers a new cache of properties. The development will also feature a trail system, tons of green space and a spectacular 3-acre park on Lake Huron.

“It’s really needed in the community. There’s no vacant lots at all in Goderich. So the timing is great,” says former Goderich Mayor Deb Shewfelt, according to CTV news

Shewfelt pushed heavily for the development during his time in office. With the current pandemic, it’s the perfect time for additional housing in the area, as more and more people are expected to relocate out of the cities as the increase in remote work allows.

“It’s beautiful. You can’t come up here and look at the views we’ve got here, and think why anywhere else. It’s a gorgeous town. A gorgeous piece of land,” says Rob Wood of Coast Developments, reports CTV News.
