New York-based designer Matthew Blew has a groundbreaking new design for a revolutionary wakeboat like no other. A former design engineer with Regal Boats and design director for Crest Marine, Blew is no stranger to the boat design process, but the new Gigawave 350 GW-X promises to be in a class all its own.

The Gigawave claims to create the biggest, tallest, best wave you can surf, for the ultimate wakesurf ride. With a hull designed to create a wave matched by those you’ll find in Maui, the new Gigawave promises a unique design and performance.

“We’re looking to bridge the gap between surfing and wakesurfing and elevate the whole surfing experience,” Blew says, reports Robb Report.

The new boat will be all-electric, relying on its incredible weight around 30 tons to create the giant wake, with riding speeds expected of around 10 to 16 mph. Expected to launch next year, the new Gigawave will be priced at around $600,000.
