World Cat, the North Carolina-based, outboard-powered center and dual console catamaran manufacturer is expanding its production capabilities with the addition of a new facility in Greenville, North Carolina. The new facility will add an additional 265,000 square feet of production space to World Cat’s existing space, allowing for a total production space of 400,000 square feet, and adding an additional 60 new employees to the new space.
“This new Greenville, North Carolina location was ideal for producing our 40-foot World Cat Custom flagship models, and further expanding our capabilities,” says World Cat President Andrew Brown. “With the continued growing demand for our catamarans, this move will allow us to effectively manage our customer and dealer expectations as well as provide support for new product development.”
World Cat is investing $2.5 million into the new facility, chosen for its population and proximity to the existing location. The investment is expected to positively impact the local community and allow for further expansion of the company.
The 400CC-X is the first model to come out of the new facility, which is also currently producing the 400DC-X. Future plans call for a showroom at the Greenville location, along with new model launches, with the first expected to be announced later this year.
