The longest Canadian pier on the Great Lakes is coming to Mississauga as part of the new Lakeview Village plan to further revive and redevelop the waterfront. The space will occupy almost 178 acres of land previously utilized by a coal-fired power plant on the shores of Lake Ontario. The new design for Lakeview Village envisions a gorgeous space filled with homes, offices and retail spaces built to world-leading standards for sustainability.
“This is the realization of the master plan vision and an embodiment of modern lakefront living,” said Brian Sutherland, vice-president of development, Argo Development Corporation and development lead for Lakeview Village, reports Toronto CTV News. “This is a brand that celebrates our move towards reconnecting people to the waterfront for the first time in decades.”
The master plan for Lakeview Village submitted in 2018 to the City of Mississauga was approved on November 8, although a completion date for the project has not yet been released.
The development will include over 45 acres of green space, access to 450-plus acres of nearby parkland and a 64-acre conservation area. To learn more about the planned Lakeview Village, visit mylakeviewvillage.com.
