The annual Kite Flight will return to Ontario Beach Park on the shores of Lake Ontario in Rochester, New York, on Sunday, May 1. From noon to 4 p.m., join the community and enjoy demonstrations from expert kite flyers, strolling jugglers and other street performers, as well as take part in kite making and craft workshops, and kids activities presented by the “Rec on the Move” staff.
Recreations will be provided as a fundraiser for the Charlotte Neighborhood Association, and the city’s mobile recreation center will be on site. The event is sponsored by Wegmans and presented by the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee, the City of Rochester and Monroe County.
“We are delighted to welcome back this family favorite,” says Mayor Malik D. Evans. “Kite Flight not only kicks off the spring season, it lifts our spirits and provides an outlet for families to get outside and enjoy our parks and green spaces.”
Face masks and social distancing are required by all attendees.
