Southwest Florida Yachts, located in Cape Coral, Florida, has an immediate need for sail and power vessels to join its charter fleet. Late-model, diesel-powered vessels in the 30- to 50-foot range are ideal candidates for the program, with monohulls such as Catalina and Island Packet, sailing cats like Fountaine Pajot and Leopard, power yachts such as Mainship, Grand Banks, Sabreline and Beneteau, and certain power cats being the most popular.

“The pandemic has significantly enhanced the interest in cruising and boat ownership, especially at this time of year,” says Southwest Florida Yachts Co-Owner Barb Hansen. “Additionally, damage to several of our cruisers as the result of Hurricane Ian has put major demands on our charter fleet leading to a need for fleet expansion.”

Founded in 1984, Southwest Florida Yachts’ location at the Westin Resort Marina offers access to the breathtaking barrier islands and beyond, and the charter program serves as an ideal opportunity to get to know your vessel while using charter revenue to upgrade it to the way you desire for your long-term cruising plans.

“Charter revenue is a great way to help offset the cost of boat ownership,” explains Hansen. “Our charter yacht management program is much like a condominium rental management program. Most of our vessel owners use their charter revenue to maintain and upgrade their yachts, expenses they would have anyway plus assistance in offsetting the costs of dockage and insurance.”

As a buyer’s broker, Hansen helps her clients find the right boat.  “If you are in the market to purchase a vessel, we can find a boat for you that meets both your needs and our charter requirements. We may also accept a well-maintained late-model (from approximately 2000 to present) vessel that you already own if it meets our standards for condition and equipment.”
