On the heels of the SLX 280 Outboard’s debut, Sea Ray is advancing its premium SLX line with the new SLX 280, delivering a sterndrive variation of the popular model. Sporting a luxurious interior, great performance, improved seating and storage with new new technology innovations, the 28-foot, 8-inch boat delivers space and versatility.
“Earlier this year, we released the SLX 280 Outboard which was met with positive reviews from our dealers, media and boaters,” says Keith Yunger, Sea Ray president. “Now with the launch of the SLX 280, we’re excited to introduce consumers to the sterndrive variant of this new model, as we continue to expand and develop the next generation of the SLX Series.”
The SLX 280 offers deep, ergonomic seating — boaters can relax in plush, U-shaped bow seating or on the large transom pad. The transom locker and floor compartment can be used to store inflatables and gear, and a compartment under the transom sunpad can be filled with ice for an integrated cooler. Upgrade the cockpit with a drawer-style refrigerator and an end table offering an inductive charging station, dry-storage compartment and cup holders for added convenience.
The swim platform offers an optional submersible step, while the electrically raised and lowered Power Tower includes a canvas top and extendable sunshade for sun protection.
Propelled by a 350-horsepower Mercury MerCruiser 6.2L MPI ECT engine with a Bravo Three drive, SmartCraft technology and Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) controls, the SLX 280 delivers on the performance side. A simple dash includes a dual Digital Dash featuring standard 9-inch Simrad NSX touchscreen displays and SmartCraft Connect for intuitive engine monitoring, along with a Fusion stereo system at the helm.
