Raymarine Releases New Features and Capabilities for Axiom and Alpha Displays

Raymarine released new software updates for Lighthouse and Alpha displays that adds navigation, entertainment and new capabilities. The new updates include integration with the Avikus NeuBoat Dock system, which uses a six-camera solution to provide a 360-degree bird’s-eye view to assist with docking and maneuvering. The system is easy for boatbuilders to incorporate with simple calibration capable of being performed dockside by the OEM.

Lighthouse 4.6 updates offer YouTube and YouTube TV app availability, a Quick Adjust menu for easy navigation, and Nav Marks icon group and Distance to Go data point and fuel-range ring for route planning. AIS target data is expanded on the radar screen, with True/Relative motion toggle added to the Quick Adjust menu. Mercury engine support has also been expanded with full support for Mercury digital anchoring. A new GPS item helps catalog maximum Speed Over Ground along with the option to implement a high-speed alarm.

Sailing features include an expanded autopilot Wind Vane mode, with Steer to Apparent Wind Angle, True Wind Angle and Target Wind Angle from Polar functionality. Alpha 2.0 offers a next-leg information page that delivers key data to plan the next trip. GPS data has been expanded to include Opposite Tack Course Over Ground (COG); Wind data now includes Next Leg Target Wind Angle (TWA), Target Apparent Wind Angle and Target True Wind Angle. Heading data now includes Opposite Tack COG and Opposite Tack Heading.
