Grady-White 370 Express

Grady-White is as legendary a brand as it gets in boating. The builder has made itself a household name by turning out seaworthy and versatile boats since way back in 1959.

The trick to carrying that success well into the 21st century is rooted — somewhat ironically — in the builder’s traditional values. While having no fear of innovation, Grady-White is also slow to change from its time-honored values.

An excellent example of this ethos is the Grady-White Express 370 which just arrived at South Shore Marine in Huron, Ohio. “The biggest thing people will realize about this boat once they take her for a sea trial is her ride,” says Matt Grieves, the brokerage’s sales manager. “This hull is great and it can eat up anything we see up here in the Great Lakes.”

Grieves also praises the boat for its versatility. “She is excellent for fishing, and that’s how a lot of our guys use her primarily,” he says. “But you can cruise this boat really well too. She sleeps four comfortably and I think a lot of people are going to be impressed by her accommodations level.”

For anglers, the 370 Express offers ample space in the cockpit, an in-transom livewell, in-sole fishboxes, and stowage for bait and lures. And with a standard, triple 450-horsepower Yamaha setup the 370 Express can fly out to the fish to the tune of a 48-knot top end, while cruising comfortably and efficiently at right around 35 knots.

“The perfect day on this boat would be to head out early in nice weather and catch some fish,” says Grieves. “Then you could shoot over to the sandbar and grill them up on the cockpit grill. And the nice part is if it’s raining on the way home, it’s got that enclosed space on the main deck to keep everyone comfortable.”

It’s days like that that keep people coming back to Grady-White.
