Lakeshore Keepers and the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum will host a special guided Bus Day Tour on Saturday, October 11, 2025, offering visitors an all-inclusive tour of Big Sable Point Lighthouse and the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, in efforts to make the lighthouse and museum more accessible to the community and travelers. Guests board shuttle buses at Ludington State Park for a 3-hour, 40-minute adventure where they can climb the 112-foot tower of Big Sable Point Lighthouse and enjoy panoramic views, walk the beach and shop at the gift shop, and explore the exhibits and artifacts at the maritime museum.
The tour costs $50 per person, and includes bus transportation, entrance fees, a bottle of water and a candy bar. Departures are at 10 am, 11:10 am and 1:40 pm. Big Sable Point Lighthouse, Ludington North Breakwater Light, Little Sable Point Lighthouse and White River Light Station fall hours are Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, starting Thursday, September 11, 2025. Ludington North Breakwater will close for the winter on September 28, Little Sable Point and White River Light Station will close on October 19, and Big Sable point will remain open until October 26, 2025.
