Irish Boat Shop Hosts “Fill the Boat Food Drive” Holiday Campaign

By November 10, 2025No Comments

Irish Boats Shop’s three locations are helping provide food assistance to their communities with a “Fill the Boat Food Drive” initiative in partnership with Northman Den Youth Services and The Father Fred Foundation. The food drive kicked off at the Traverse City location with the “Women at the Helm” networking forum on November 6, 2025, with the Harbor Springs location following with an event in conjunction with the Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, December 6 from 6:00 – 9:00pm for the Merchants Holiday Open House. A Holiday Open House at the Charlevoix location will wrap up the food drive on Friday, December 12 from 4:30-6:00pm.

Customers and the community can stop in any time beyond event hours to donate non-perishable food items to help “Fill the Boat” at each location, and will receive an entry into the Food Drive raffle for an Irish Boat Shop gift bag. The food from all three locations will be distributed to the two participating foundations with the goal of surpassing last year’s total of 1,000 pounds of food. Preferred items include granola bars, crackers, muffin mixes, honey, peanut butter, seed butter, jelly, jam, bread and microwave popcorn. A full list of items can be found on the Facebook event page, at facebook.com/irishboatshop

“We are grateful for the success we have had at Irish Boat Shop in all three of our locations and want to continue to support the communities where we live and work,” says Colin Texter, GM of the Traverse City location.
