Pursuit of happiness.

Pursuit has long staked its claim as a boatbuilder that turned out boats for adventurers, be they fishermen or cruisers.

The solidly built boats are known for their versatility and seaworthiness, as well as an unquenchable penchant for having fun. While the builder offers a wide range of offerings, this new S 388 may be the perfect encapsulation of what it can do (and at the right size, too).

The S 388 debuted at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to much fanfare. Showgoers were greeted by the sight of triple, 450-hp Yamaha XTOs standing at attention like a line of sentries. The powerful engines offer this boat a rollicking top speed of 51.3 knots. Cruise speed is 32 knots, where the range is reported to be a respectable 306 nautical miles. The captain also has access to Yamaha Joystick Control with Set Point and autopilot for seamless handling.

This boat takes full advantage of her 12-foot beam. Raised mezzanine seating in the cockpit will be popular both with cocktail cruisers and with anglers watching baits. The latter crowd will also be pleased to learn that the S 388 comes with ample rodholders, a 36-gallon livewell with LED lighting, in-sole fishboxes, and enough tackle stowage for as many lures and lines as an angler could want.

The boat also comes with a thumping JL Audio sound system, Sirius XM capabilities and underwater lights. Did we mention Pursuit values versatility? Besides fishing and daytime fun in the sun, the
S 388 is also capable of being used as an overnighter or weekender thanks to a berth down below, which shares space with a mini galley below and sink/cooking amenities above deck.

If you are looking for a boat that can truly do it all, the Pursuit S 388 is one that you should give a good kick in the tires. Few models out there combine the type of performance, livability and pursuit of a good time that she is capable of.
