Boat rental and on-water adventure companies Boatsetter and Getmyboat announced a merger to form a global destination for boating and water-based adventure. The merger will integrate the platforms into a connected marketplace enhancing booking and discovery, unlocking additional inventory and offering a broad array of tools and opportunities to owners and operators.
CEO of Boatsetter Michael Farb will serve as CEO for the combined company, with both platforms and apps remaining active, operating from their prospective current locations.
“Outdoor recreation has surged in recent years with a record number of Americans wanting to spend more time in nature and 80 percent of young people say that being outdoors is important to them,” says Farb. “We’re seeing this shift play out across our platforms as well. Millions of people are choosing time on the water to reconnect with nature, their loved ones and the outdoors more intentionally. Both companies have long admired each other’s growth and innovation and this merger unlocks greater access to that lifestyle.”
The merger will enhance product development and promote a more consistent user experience across the platforms.
