Michigan Maritime Museum’s P.I.R.A.T.E. Camp — which stands for Play. Imagine. Research. Adventure. Think. Explore. — is now open for registration for grades 3 to 4 and 5 to 6. The camp will offer two separate sessions with the first happening Tuesday, June 23, 2026 – Friday, June 26 from 9am-5pm daily, and Tuesday, July 28, 2026 – Friday, July 31 from 9am – 5pm daily.
Students will sail on the tall ship Friends Good Will, paddle aboard a voyager canoe, get up close with local wildlife, make baggywrinkles (you’ll have to find out), and even go on a treasure hunt. Pirate camper crafts include making signal flags, sewing felt fish, and assembling your own wooden boats. The cost is $200 for non-members, $175 for members, and there are nine full scholarships available for each session.
