Dockmate, maker of advanced wireless remote-control systems for yachts, has introduced Drift Lock, a new software option designed to enhance its Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) for marine vessels. The feature lets a Dockmate DPS-equipped boat automatically hold a fixed heading while drifting, compensating for wind and current while reducing the need for constant steering input. This helps operators stay focused on tasks like fishing or line handling. Developed with both professional and recreational anglers in mind, Drift Lock builds on Dockmate’s existing DPS technology, which combines remote control with automated position-holding capabilities. The new feature is available on both new Dockmate DPS installations, as well as existing systems.
