The West Michigan Tourist Association announced the release of its 2026 Lake Michigan Lighthouse Map & Circle Tour, available in both print and digital formats. The map is free to the public and feature over 100 lighthouses and attractions throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, highlighting the official Lake Michigan Circle Tour.
The tour route was established in the 1980s through a partnership between the Michigan Department of Transportation and WMTA, and became the first officially signed Great Lakes Circle Tour and remains the only Circle Tour entirely within the United States, offering travelers an iconic road trip that features miles of shoreline, waterfront communities and historic landmarks.
“The Lake Michigan Circle Tour continues to inspire travelers to slow down and experience the beauty, history, and hospitality found along Lake Michigan,” says WMTA Executive Director Dave Lorenz.
The 2026 cover features the stunning Ludington North Breakwater Lighthouse, photographed by Lillian Dotzlaf as part of the 2025 WMTA Annual Photo Contest.
