Mark your calendars for August 22, 2026, when the Pentwater Yacht Club in Michigan will host the 29th Annual Wooden & Classic Boat Show and Parade. Free and open to the public, the event showcases dozens of restored wooden and classic boats on the Village Green and in the water, and is one of West Michigan’s most welcoming destinations for antique boat enthusiasts.
“Boat owners go to bigger shows throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes, but they tell us they come to Pentwater because they feel welcome the moment they arrive,” says show co-chair Dave Reynolds. “They enjoy our picturesque setting, friendly volunteers, and the opportunity to talk about their boats.”
Wander the show and hear stories and experiences, as well as learn restoration tips and techniques from boat owners. Visitors will appreciate a variety of vessels representing over a century of boating, from Chris-Craft and Century runabouts, to sailboats, race boats and unique items like the Michigander Ice Boat. Vote for your favorite in the popular People’s Choice Award, or participate in the “Build Your Own Mini-Boat” activity.
“More is on display than just old boats with polished wood and chrome. Visitors are seeing what thousands of hours of restoration, maintenance, and stewardship look like,” adds show co-chair Dave Peterhans. “Our committee really enjoys seeing our guests take in the overall experience. And we especially like introducing younger generations to the history behind these boats.”
Attendees can enjoy a lunch available for purchase in the Pentwater Yacht Club, and the Awards Program will start at 3pm, followed by the Classic Boat Parade on Pentwater Lake at 4pm.
