The Marine Trades Institute (MTI) will host “Crafted for a Cause,” an island-inspired fundraiser celebrating 21 years of training the next generation of marine professionals. The event takes place August 21 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Les Cheneaux Distillers in Cedarville, Michigan, with proceeds benefiting MTI’s Student Enrichment Fund. The fund supports equipment purchases, field trips and professional development opportunities for MTI students.
Guests at “Crafted for a Cause” can enjoy tropical-themed food, complimentary drinks, live music, boat and engine displays, and student’s projects showcased. A trivia challenge and “Best Island Outfit” contest add to the festivities, while raffle prizes include boating and beach gear, local experiences, $1,000 cash and a $2,500 grand prize.
Ticket sales will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $3,000, effectively contributing an extra $100 to MTI for every ticket sold.
