On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, A.H. Wilkens Auctions & Appraisals will hold an auction of items from the Gordon Lightfoot estate, an Orillian local and Canadian music icon. The sale includes personal memorabilia, costumes, instruments and photographs from both Lightfoot’s early days with the Orillia band Two Timers & Two Tones, as well as his later work, reports OrilliaMatters.com. In addition, the auction will feature important documents regarding the sinking of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, commemorated by Lightfoot’s famous song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The 1948 Martin D-18 which spanned Lightfoot’s stage career and was his performance acoustic guitar, iconically marked with a yellow happy face sticker on the backside of the guitar, will also be up for auction along with Clement’s Gretsch Country Gent and Tennessean.
Public previews of the auction items will be held November 23, 24 and 25, 2025, from 12-5pm at the A.H. Wilkens’s Toronto gallery.
