Global and local rescue is now available in one compact beacon with the launch of ACR Electronics’ new Cospas-Sarsat-approved ResQLink AIS Personal Locator Beacon, which combines multiple levels of integrated signal technology.

“ACR Electronics is proud to answer the demand from boaters for AIS man overboard and Cospas-Sarsat technology in one complete PLB package with the new ResQLink AIS. Offering a new level of safety that will help save more lives, our new PLB gives boaters the best chance of alerting others to a distress situation,” says Mikele D’Arcangelo, vice president of global marketing and product management for ACR Electronics.

The beacon now offers Near Field Communications (NFC) so owners can monitor their beacons directly from their phones, and once activated, the beacon delivers a complete communication link to emergency services.

In addition, ACR Electronics has announced the world’s first mobile connected AIS EPIRB with Return Link Service, providing faster rescue and the maximum chance of survival. The GlobalFix V5 EPIRB features integrated AIS and NFC technology for use with the ACR mobile app, that is also compatible with Return Link Services alerting.

“As leading safety specialists and beacon innovators for many years, ACR emphasizes to all boat owners and operators that EPIRBs are a vital element of your safety kit,” adds D’Arcangelo. “For those people affected by the IMO AIS EPIRB mandate and for any boaters who want the additional reassurance of AIS or to ensure they meet future regulations, our latest EPIRBs are the best option. We also offer the V5 version without AIS for use in applications that do not have to comply with the new IMO requirements.”
