Port Washington has completed the restoration of its historic Breakwater Lighthouse, a cherished community landmark. The project, supported by a $2,231,900 Transportation Alternative Program grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, included critical structural repairs, surface refinishing and long-term preservation work to ensure the lighthouse continues to shine for future generations.
“This project has been years in the making and represents a remarkable collaboration between local partners, preservation experts and the Port Washington community,” said Mayor Neitzke. “The lighthouse is more than a landmark — it is a reflection of who we are as a city: Resilient, forward-looking and deeply connected to our waterfront.”
