Kids in kindergarten through eighth grade can now learn about the Great Lakes from home every week, thanks to the Alliance for the Great Lakes. H.O.M.E.School videos are released every Monday at 9:30 am /cst on the organization’s website and Facebook page.
Education manager Kaie Larson starts off the videos with a “classroom” portion followed by an activity viewers can complete. The first lesson covers maps and the second looks at watersheds and the water cycle. Upcoming videos will give information about habitats, food webs, boats, plastic pollution and more.
Check out the online test and an intro video. More information for educators is also available. To learn more about the lessons, visit greatlakes.org/homeschool.
