The Antique Boat Museum — a premier freshwater nautical museum that provides education, exhibits, events and preservation efforts to celebrate the history of boating in the U.S. and on the St. Lawrence River — will launch its 2021 lecture series on Thursday January 28 with “Shipwrecks of the 1000 Islands.”

Dennis and Kathi McCarthy of the St. Lawrence River Historical Foundation will share their extensive knowledge of the subject via Google Meet, allowing anyone interested near or far to join in on the lecture. The lecture will last 40 minutes, with extra time after for questions and discussion.

The Antique Boat Museum lecture series will be available for year-round audiences, offered both virtually and on-campus throughout 2021 to allow people to attend from the comfort of their homes if preferred.

To join this first event of the series, go to meet.google.com on your laptop or desktop computer’s web browser, or use the Google Meet app on your smartphone or tablet and enter meeting code juo-noto-bpu when prompted.

The event is free, but donations to the Antique Boat Museum are appreciated. Make a donation at abm.org under “Join/Donate” or by mail in honor of the St. Lawrence River Historical Foundation.
