A new app showcasing the Lake Erie Coastal Trail is now available for free on smartphones. The Lake Erie Coastal Trail app points out landmarks along Lake Erie on a digital map and provides more information on each site.
The Lake Erie Coastal Trail 293-mile long designated scenic byway that runs along the southern coast of Lake Erie, from Toledo to Conneaut. Users can log into the app to find more than 300 cultural, historic and natural sites of interest. These include lighthouses, museums, parks, public beaches and more.
The app was created by the Erie Regional Planning department to help locals and tourists find nearby activities that suit their interests, whether that’s bird watching or boating. The app took about one year to fully develop and launch. Find the app in the App Store.
