Beneteau’s New Gran Turismo Mixes Sporty and Elegance

By December 1, 2015No Comments

At the Miami Boat Show in February, Beneteau America will launch the next generation of its Gran Turismo express cruisers. The boats, which Beneteau has crafted to be a perfect mix of sporty and elegance, come in two new models: the GT40 and the GT46.

Both models were carefully crafted by Nuvolari & Lendard, two noted Italian designers who are also responsible for Beneteau’s Monte Carlo line. The designers planned the GT40 and GT46 to feel protected and enclosed, but also open to nature. For example, both models have a hard top that can be electronically opened, sleekly turning the cockpit into a sun-lounging area. Both boats also have outdoor seating at the bow and a 4-foot deep aft swim platform, which have electric and hydraulic lowering capability.

The GT40 and GT46 each have their own unique features. The GT40 utilizes Beneteau’s patented Air Step hull design and Volvo-Penta stern drive system. Its lower deck has two separate cabins for guest privacy. The GT46 features a step hull design with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion technology, as well as a bit more living and galley space than the FT40.
