Yacht designer and industry veteran Bill Prince received the Joseph Burr Bartram Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th annual Vintage Weekend at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. The award is presented to those whose leadership has helped preserve and protect historic yachts. Over the last 25 years, Bill Prince Yacht Design is not only the leading naval architecture firm in the U.S. involved in classic yacht refits, Prince has also designed and engineered yachts for Hinckley, Island Packet, Lazzara, Pursuit, Ted Hood, Tiara, Van Dam, Wheeler, Yellowfin and more.
“I’m humbled and honored to be the recipient of the Joe Burr Bartram Lifetime Achievement award,” says Prince. “I’m thankful for the appreciation of our projects, some of which are among the finest American yachts of the early 21st century. Two Prince-designed yachts on display at the Vintage Weekend also received awards. The 48-foot Huckens Avocette received the John Trumpy Award for excellence in design and engineering, and the 38-foot Wheeler Legend received the Spirit of Tradition Award.
