Legendary hydroplane racer and Pacific Northwest resident Chip Hanauer (at left), also known as “The Boat Guy,” is trying his hand at cruising aboard a Ranger Tug 27. Hanauer’s new boat, appropriately named The Boat Guy 1, will spend the next year exploring the region from South Sound to Desolation Sound and beyond. He will document his adventures in a lighthearted video series on his website, theboatguy.com.
Hanauer says he selected Ranger Tug for a plethora of reasons: It was affordable, economical, fast, easy to operate, safe and trailerable.
